i took this from a riddle site:

You are right next to a river and have a 5 gallon container and a 3 gallon container. You need to measure out 1 gallon of water. How do you do it?

I'm not going to tell you what the site it though. Because you might cheat :D. good luck!!

1) Full the 3 gallon container with water.
2) Put all the water from the 3 gallon container into the 5 gallon container.
3) Full the 3 gallon container again with more water (until it is full)
4) put the water from the 3 gallon container into the 5 gallon container until the 5 gallon container is full, then stop.

5) the 3 gallon container now contains 1 gallon exactly.
