    optical mouse not turning off

i've got an MS intellimouse explorer v3, and whenever i turn off my PC, the mouse doesn't turn off, so i have to turn off the PSU altogether. i've heard there's a BIOS setting you can use to do this, but have no idea what. i've got an a7v266 mobo btw.

nope, no batteries in this mouse. i've heard cordless mice aren't that good (especially for games). it is a USB mouse, but i don't have it connected to a USB port (just using one of those adapter things).

so there's no BIOS setting to prevent any power going to peripherals when you turn the PC off? i'm sure i read on another forum that you could...

well, i don't have any experience of playing games with them, i've just read on other forums that for playing games like UT, they're sometimes not all that responsive, cos it has to transmit the signal to that little box, which i suppose slows things down a little. although, like i said, i haven't played any games with cordless ones, so maybe there's hardly any difference.

the only slowness I see is then I first turn on my PC and if I move my mouse, for about 1 second it wouldn't move (the curson) and that's it...

    that's about all the slow-down I see...
