Displaying Parent & Child records on same form

I have been try to figure a way to display parent and child records on the same form and am having little success. I'd like to be able to pull up the parent record at the top of the form and then all of the child records (in a sorted order) at the bottom. I'd also like to be able to add, delete and update the child records in this form.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this? I would be very appreciative.
