internet connections

I know how to get the online-mode (connected to or not connected to) but I would like to know by which connection the computer is conneced to internet.
e.g. if you have one AOL connection and one Compuserve i would like to know, whey you are online, which connection you are connected with...

if anyone understands my bad explination...
