hi,
i am developing a piece of software for a manufacturing company in VB. The software monitors stock in real time. There is a need to integrate this software (somehow???) with the company's distribution management software. So, the software i'm developing should automate a transaction when the stock falls below a certain level for example. So, if my software says stock is below a certain level, then somehow the distribution management software should be able to generate a purchase order for example. One way of doing this is if the distribution management software has an Active X control/dll that has public methods such as generate a purchase order. So, by using this in my software by setting a reference to the active x control/dll the transaction can be automated. However, if the distribution management software doesn't have an active X component then how can this automation be achieved? How can my software be integrated with the distribution management software? Are there any software packages that can be used? Or any other ways of doing this?
regards
Shakeel
