    .GIF's and MsPaint

A while ago i used to be able to edit and save GIF's in msPaint, and save Jpeg's as Gif's, etc. I've recently reformatted and now i don't have .gif on the save menu. I need to save these in the proper .gif format not just with a .gif ending. Does anyone know any way to get my gif editing ability back?

    For the file name type:

    Code:
    "file.gif"
And MAKE SURE you KEEP the QUOTES! Name the file with the quotes

I have had the same problem...the first few weeks after installing Win2k MSPaint won't let you save as gifs or jpgs, and then it will...There is probably a reason but I don't know what it is.
What is the answer to this question?

gif is a proprietary format. I can't imagine why it's sometime there and sometimes not, but its a good reason why it shouldn't be

Probably you have installed PSP or something that has image codecs that Paint will use only if installed.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
    (Just a heads-up)
