******* WARNING TO ALL ********
me and a friend both just found out that we have the ilove you virus, i have found all the files (so far) that are used, i have removed them from my system & his, i am working on finding the origination of it now.

not only this, but both of us, are sure we have not opened any email attachments.

be warned.

I was being sarcastic on the title.... as you may have been able to tell.
this is a bad thing, really bad, I didnt open any attachments, yet it got on my computer...
how, I dont know.
this sucks ass.
any of you who dont have virus scanners.
search for the file extension
*.hta
to do this go to find/files or folders, in the start menu, and where it says find name of file type in
*.hta
if you see a 8.3 file with different letters and numbers, with an hta extension, I would say delete it.
also
search for a file named kak.reg
delete that.
search for a file name kak.htm
delete it.
if anybody has any other info on this, and maybe if there are some other files that i missed,
PLEASE tell me.

yep, tis me,
I have the virus, or a mutant of it. I cant get rid of it. I havent actually rean the virus yet.
I have looked at the source code. really sloppy....

wait, it apears to be gone now.... woo hoo...
it may come back when I reboot though.
I would be cautious, because for me and my friend this thing just appeared out of no where.
I am sure we ran a file, but I dont know which it could be....
he sent me a file, it is a bmp compressor, but he also sent me the source code, so it coulnt be him...
I bet it was my brother... oh well,
at least I havent lost anything valuable.....
oh, and I heard that this thing replaces jpegs with itself... is this true?
because I have about 500 jpegs.....
possibly more....

Isn't it a bit late to be catching that virus? Considering he posted this in 2000 I think he's about right for it ;).

What do you lot do to manage to bring these old threads back to life and not realise it .
