How do I take a screenshot of Media Player without the image going black?

:)

It would probably be simple if you opened it in a video editing program and simply saved the frame you wanted.

Good night.

Blade - To be honest, that was just conjecture. But a quick search came up with Pinnacle Studio 7 (http://www.videoguys.com/free.shtml)

I use HypersnapDX, it can take screenshots from mostly anything that appears on your screen.. even divx, opengl, games..
It's downloadable at download.com (http://www.download.com)

Very interesting trick I learned.

Pause the movie. Minimize and restore. Take your screenshot.

Works with WMP 6.4, try it with a later version :)

After I restored it, the image was blacked out. And the couple of apps I just downloaded didn't work either. Its WMP 6.4

:(

I'm not running any SPs but I doubt that'd make a difference.

Is this a plain old MPEG file or is it DivX or somesuch?

I don't know, give it a shot.

On my computer it's working fine with a Staind video. I better try some other videos I have ;)

Same as Justin ... no SP2 installed, how are you going about taking the screen shot, presume just Print Screen, will try it out tonite and see if MS have engineered a bug in with the service pack....

Actually aren't dissing him at all, also just offering alternatives he may not have tried yet...think outside the box Nis ... sometimes helps....
