Java is going to hell...
I sat in a Java 2 developers course not too long ago and boy are they Microsoft paranoid.
I just can't see how Java can compete as the IDE for .NET is outstanding in comparison and apart from the functionality side of a programming language, when you want to develop something fast you use the best IDE right?;)

Nah Java wont die..it will struggle to keep up, but Java already has a loyal base of overly paranoid ABMers(Anything But Microsoft) that wont go near .NET because they believe it is spyware sending MS their personnal information and I guess they like being locked into no choice of language.
