Since we already have a lot of other programming languages here, I think we should add to that by putting another
one up for "3D Graphics". In it, there could be things about programming in 3d or using 3D Studio or POV-Ray.

Problem with just creating more forums is that people with problems want to go where all the people are, they don't post in the right areas. This is not really a problem but it makes you wonder if we really need more forums ???
Sometimes people post in the right place. Although another problem is that the catagories will become cluttered.

I think what happens is people don't get a good response from some of the more specific forums so thay go to the general. Then in future they just go to the general forum or post in both.
Understandable, but sometimes so many people post in the general one that they scroll too quickly.
I think (this is just off the cuff, I haven't really thought it through) that there should be one group (or two) and there are catagories. when you write you select a catagory for the drop down menu and when you view you see only the categories you want as specified in your profile or you can click for others.
So I could put Graphics, Internet and Other (you could then create more categories) and leave off say DB and API. and not have to switch between forums.
Think it needs a bit of work, this idea would get even more crowded ;)
Yes, I do think you're right about people posting in General a lot. I can't say I haven't done it before, I mean, I've done it lots of times before, but what I can tell you is this: If you post in General, you're usually gaurenteed an answer, but if you post in a more specific catagory, you may not be gaurenteed answer, but if you get one, it'll be one much better than what you'd get in the General section. The reason being is that people who go to the specific catagories are usually more skilled in that area.
