As long as we're going to have this forum, it might be a good idea to know where we might be able to find the tools for it. Does anyone know of a wonderful, but most importantly FREE, editor/compiler, that we can download? Also, is there a tutorial we can use to get a jump start?

For good javascript tutorials go to webmonkey.com or cnet.com There are a bunch of other ones as well. For an editor a free one is available from globalscape called cute html.this is the same company that makes cute ftp. About.com also offers some good tutorials. Just remember through there is no complier for javascript or asp, they are interperted languages.

If your looking for a free Java compiler look no further then Sun's own SDK for Java, its free.
http://www.javasoft.com/
Its probably all you'll need while your learning Java. If you want free books to learn Java check out
http://www.informit.com
or
http://www.gamelan.com
Teach yourself Java 2 (or 1.1) in 24 Hours is a great beginners book.
If your looking for a good and FREE editor you might want to look into JBuilder Foundation by Borland, its totally free and pretty good, but if your still learning it might be a bit more then you need. (Its written in Java so its a bit sluggish at times)
