This program will download an XML file from MS and then scan your machine to see if any updates are needed using the XML file as a reference. No data is sent to MS (except for the original XML request packet of course.) Now what's nice about this program is that it will not only scan your machine, but it can also scan all of the NT based computers in your domain and tell you about patches for IE, IIS, SQL Server and the variaous windows operating systems (NT4, 2K, XP.)
While this is nice, the only export option is TAB or word wrap. So I wrote a program that runs the HFNETCHK (which you must d/l seperately) and performs a scan of the network or your local machine and then parses the output and sends it to an HTML file. The biggest advantage is that it also provides direct links to the KB and TechNet articles relating to the patch.
So, if a couple of people could try it out, I'd be really interested in some feedback.
