I have made a program that lets you control Winamp from Counter-Strike, or any other application for that matter. You just hold the Control button and press one of the corresponding numbers on the number pad at the right side of the keyboard. I need people other than me to test it, to make sure it works. If you are using any of the following systems, I would like to see your feedback:
Windows 95 (all versions)
Windows 98 (all versions)
Windows ME
Windows 2000 (I have pro, but any other version)
Windows XP (all versions)
You can download it here:
http://haztek.d2g.com/getfile.php?file=CAmp.zip
Please either post your comments here, or on my forums at http://haztek.d2g.com/forums/index.php
I will appreciate any feedback, good or bad.
Thank you

WHAT?!!? are there any error messages or anything? Were you pressing the right keys? I think I know what your problem is... make sure your Num Lock is on. If it's off, it doesn't work for me, so I'm guessing that's your problem. If not, repost please.
Thank you.

I figured out that if the Numlock is off, the keys work like the up, down, left, right, end, home, page up, and page down keys, so i'll add some code to turn the numlock on when the program loads, or tell the user to turn the numlock on before playing.

That's really weird. I need to get my hands on WinXP so I can test my apps. Well I guess I'll add XP to the list of incompatible OSes. :(

It works on windows 2000 advanced server but not after the game begins simply because the # keys are used in the game therefore your program cannot work.

The keys are used in the game? My game works fine with this program. You are using the keys on the Number pad right? Not the keys at the top of the keyboard. Why does it only work on my computers?!?

yeah, i was using the keys @ the top of the keyboard, not the numpad, your original post doesn't stipulate which number keys to use, however when i use the keys on the numpad, yeah it does work, you might want to edit your original post to include that

I should have realized that most people don't read the README.TXT file that comes with most downloads. :D OK I'll edit that post so that people know which keys to press.
Thanx again.

My friend I used both sets of numbers to no avail, also you need to add a stop button to your program for the people it does work for.

Ok I tested it on XP Professional and it works fine, which means it does not work on 2000 Advanced Server like I said before.

Thanks AutoBot and Jx3. So it works on XP, but not Win2K Advanced Server. Does the interface look good? I draw it all with code, nothing, except the menu is drawn in the IDE. The onlything I have on the main form is the title bar, which uses a custom font, and most people don't have it. On the menu, the menu items are just labels with some code behind them. You guys have any feedback on the design? Any flaws you have found?
I have uploaded a new version that includes a STOP button, which is the Del/Decimal key on the numberpad, right next to the play button. If you think it should be bound to a different key, drop a line. I'm hoping in the future to allow the user to customize which key does which, and learn how to use the HL SDK so that I can print the current song in the game.
Thanks

I really like the interface very cstrike'ish even though I'm more of a DoD and Firearms Mod player.

Terminal Services? Lost me... It works on your Win2K AS? I wonder why it doesn't work on AutoBot's... I don't know whether to change the incompatible OS list... hmmm

Thats good to hear it is a nice program, must be something on my end but I run a ftp, website connected to MySQL, and a host of other things that may have been preventing it from working.

well my server is running SQL 2000, Exchange 5.5, Proxy 2.0, FTP Site, WWW Site, Custom Sharepoint Site, and a few other things, and it still works fine for me, so it shouldnt be the apps & services running on the server.
Terminal Services is like PC Anywhere i suppose, however it runs a seperate desktop & seperate processes within Terminal Services so as like 2 people can remotely connect to the sever & use it independently from each other & idependantly from the main console (Server itself)
and if you want it tested on any oter OS's, just let me know..., i got every MS OS here except XP Home, & of course the new BETA OS's that are out there

New version, if you want it, now includes a key combo that displays the some info about the currently playing track. The key combo is Control+NumPad8. Download at your leisure with the link from the original post.
