Hi,
How can I work out how long a hard drive will take to format, based on the capacity of the drive?
Thanks

You would have to take into account a lot of factors. Make/model of disk, write/read speed, software used (algorithms etc), processor speed of system etc etc

damn, so is there no "average" time, for a, say, 40GB hard disk to format, using standard format c: ??
if so, how is this "average" time calculated (it only has to be approximate of course)

also, say the hard disk has no faults (e.g. bad sectors) and is UDMA 100?
