Not a VB question, but maybe you folks at this forum might have some advice.

When a friend of mine starts his system (Windows 98), Norton Utilities start automatically. For the last week or so, Norton reports that there are 16 invalid enties in the ActiveX/COM section of the Registry.

Is this a serious problem? Except for an occasional freeze or crash, his system seems to run okay. He does not remember, but the system might not be crashing any more often than it did before the Norton messages.

Is there some way to identify the bad entries? Norton gives no clue.

He might have deleted some Folders instead of uninstalling applications. I do not know that he did this, but he has asked if this is an easy way to get rid of unwanted applications. I always say no, but he keeps asking.

Thanx for any advice you might be able to give.
