I'm designing a Virtual Fax program (run from computer) for a friend's dad and a client and I need a suggestion. So far this is what I've got:
1) You type of the fax/insert image
2) Send it to a server to relay data
3) Server checks if recipient is online
4) If online, send. If not, archive in an online DB.
5) If online, sends the data (and coordinates of any pictures) to the recipient and stores.
Ok...I need help on steps 2 and 4 for the program.
I need to know how to work online databases. I can do DB connection and all but I'm not sure how to connect to a DB thats online. Also, my friend might not be able to let me have access to his dad's office's server computer to check out what OS and all it runs.
Also, I need some advertising advice. I'm only 12 but I want to be able to get my name around early a bit too. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get your name around with people?
