ok, this may be quite simple, but I am half way thru downloading the DX8 SDK, and i'm getting DarkBasic very soon.
which is easier to make a little dude just standing there??
how can I make my own objects for DB??

Unfortunately, DB has a tendancy to suck.
If you decide you still want to go that way, the DB documentation is the best way to find out how to use the language.

DB will get you something on screen pretty fast, but wont do everything. If you want real control, you have to learn the actual D3D API.
