Great Opportunity!
To help Behemoth and I with Sentience!
(if you don't know what I'm on about then download Sentience in its main thread....)
Right, here's the Gen....
In the game, each faction is to have an advisor to guide them through the game and give useful hints at key points.
These 'Arbiters' ( ) are going to be biased towards the factions goals i.e. the conquest factions advisor will be hinting towards military action, whilst the covert ops factions advisor will be hinting towards sneakiness.
All well and good, I hear you say, but where do we fit in?
Well, you guys fit in by taking on one of the advisor roles.
I'll provide the basic text for the admin (neutral) faction and you can then alter this to reflect your own advisors goals and personality.
I shall be doing the Admin faction and Behemoth the Cartographic faction.
Which leaves:
Conquest
Defense
Research
Industry
Covert Ops
for other people to fill.
For each of these, we'll need an arbiter which provides useful information and also has its own personality which people can relate to, helping to provide depth to the game.
For each of the textual advice the arbiter will give, we'll also need a wav of this being spoken. I have no problem with people with accents doing this as it will provide flavour, but it is essential that it is well read.
I can't offer you anything for this apart from the joy of the game itself when it's finished and the nice warm cuddly feeling you get when you help someone out. Oh, and of course, your name in the credits of the next world shattering game.
One person can only be a single arbiter and each faction only has one arbiter so there are limited positions. It's also quite a big commitment, providing all the advice and speech for a personable character. This is why I'm asking at this stage of development so I can feed bits to you peicemeal rather than in one enormous chunk.
If anyone's interested in this then either post here, PM me, or eMail me.
Thanks for your time...
Gentile or Jew,
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you...
