    An X-Box is a PC

Also with a real PC you can run games at higher resolution whereas X-Box and other consoles are limited to 640x480.

    Thumbs down

I like my PC 2, but consoles let developers concentrate on a same set of hardware instead of developing games that work on every pc out there...

And they got better games then PC's do alot of the time.
ok, so... windows takes 1 minute to search for a file on my PC yet google.com takes 1 second to search the entire internet?

how you know if the xbox sucks?? did you ever played any games on it like Halo?? I remember reading something talking about the XBox and PS2 and the GameCube, if I remember correctly, at the end it says:

ok, I don't remember exactly so it's going to sound off.

Everyday I see in the forums like "XSuck, GameCube Rocks" or "The GameCube is a kiddy toy, I'm going to get a men system, the XBox". Don't juge the XBox just because you like the GameCube. And don't juge the GameCube just because you you like the XBox. At least try out the systems before jugeing it. Even if you hate one of the system, just don't say it.
only if I had that mag with me, I would of gived you the actule quote but that's close to it.

PC is better than Xbox but Xbox is cool, well I only played Halo but that the first console game that I can really said that the control is nice, and graphic are still near of PC.

I do not see why you hate so much Xbox... maybe it's because it's made by Microsoft...

The games are really cool for it and pretty, but in the end the X-Box is still a PC which many gamers already have.

I will never buy a Xbox because it cost to much and I think that popular game will be on PC in few like HALO. I prefer PC for game but I like the Xbox ( my friend have one). My friend brother have a GameCube... I have just checked graphic and Xbox is superior graphicly but I can not tell you how is the control.

Yes and ? PS2 and Xbox performance are not the same. PS2 is nice but never played it... I have nothing against nothing... I just tell you some point... I think you should not say that PS2 is the best console ever without testing all console.

I have to agree with you there....at first I thought the PS2 sucks, tell my sister got it and I tried it out and it wasn't bad...I played XBox (well..I have it) and it's cool, better then PS2 I think. now for GameCube, I never tried it my self, but never hurt to try it...oh and you know what?? my mom told me that in the paper, like only 1% of every buys of the XBox was faluaty while the GameCube had more faluats then the XBox...it also says that people are complaining about the XBox being faluaty while there is actuly more faluaty systems of the GameCube...I fingerd it's just because they don't like microsoft so they just say it while they don't say that the GameCube doesn't work...isn't that ironc??

    Xbox Users Complain About Defects

(AP) The Xbox is shown in this undated handout file photo. A small group of users of Microsoft's Xbox...

SEATTLE (AP) - Hundreds of people who bought Microsoft's hot new Xbox gaming console over the holidays received defective systems, and some said they had to wait weeks and endure shoddy customer service before their systems were fixed.

While analysts say the number of flawed consoles is probably too small to spell serious production troubles, they caution that the long repair times may harm the software giant in its first major foray into hardware.

John Kreis bought an Xbox the day it came out. But the 31-year-old Chicago man's $300 system stopped working almost immediately. Kreis said it took a month of aggravation with Xbox customer service before he got a replacement.

"The whole thing that was so frustrating (was) just the fact that still to this day I'm waiting for a call back just to explain to me what happened," he said.

The Associated Press spoke with about a dozen Xbox users who complained of a game system that never worked or worked for a few hours or days before freezing up. Most called the customer service response poor.

"I'm taking my Christmas decorations down and (my son) hasn't gotten to play with his Christmas toys yet," Debbie Mason, of Uniontown, Pa., said Thursday.

She had just been told in her ninth call to customer service that, despite an earlier promise that the system would be sent back that day, it turned out to be broken again.

Microsoft sales and marketing director John O'Rourke said fewer than 1 percent of the Microsoft units - 10,000 units in this case - have proven faulty. Analysts say that's in line with the industry standard, and competitor Nintendo reported a comparable rate for its new GameCube.

But analyst Rob Enderle of Giga Information Systems warned that a company's response to those customers who do have problems often is more important than how many units actually break.

"If 200 people have a really bad experience and they're vocal, then the impression is the product's bad," he said.

During the Christmas season, Enderle added, any return that takes more than a week is "a horribly long time."

For Microsoft, which shipped about 1.5 million Xboxes over the holidays, the stakes are high. With the highly regarded Xbox, the company is battling Nintendo and Sony in a hyper-competitive game console market.

Microsoft already has been plagued with rumors of problems at its Mexican production plant after it delayed its U.S. launch date by a week - to Nov. 15 - and pushed back its Japan launch as well.

The company has denied any major problems.

Plenty of people who bought defective Xboxes got decent customer service. Marc Patri, 49, said in an e-mail that his Xbox was repaired and returned within five days - which O'Rourke called the time it should take a unit to get repaired.

Microsoft uses outside companies, including San Antonio, Texas-based Harte-Hanks Inc. and Sykes Enterprises in Tampa, Fla., to handle its Xbox customer service. Xbox repairs are handled by Solectron Corp. of Milpitas, Calif.

A spokesman for Harte-Hanks declined to comment. The other companies did not respond to calls seeking comment.

Microsoft has seen no pattern of specific problems, said O'Rourke, and heard of no major delays with repairs.

Kreis said it took nearly two weeks before he even received an empty box to send his faulty Xbox back for repair.

And he got conflicting answers: At one point, customer service couldn't find his records. Another representative told him he would get a new unit rather than have his old one repaired. Another agent told him they never send new units out.

Still later, someone called him and asked him how he was enjoying his new Xbox - which he'd never received.

Finally, on Dec. 10, the repaired Xbox came back.

"I'll be loyal for a while," said Kreis. "But I'm hoping I never have to call support again, that's for sure."

BTW, JPB that would be really cool if you could bring your computer over to my place so we could play some video games. We could use your computer for a door stop and play the games on my network, with a couple systems that really smoke.

I think it matters on the game not the platform yer playing on. I own a PSII and a X-Box. Grand Theft Auto III is a great game but the controls are kind of sketchy when the dude is on foot. When he's in a car that he has just jacked the controls are great.

Halo is awsome but driving the jeep is a pain in the ass because it's too prone to flip over. But it's still a great game. Ive heard a few people (but not many) complain about frame rate drops when playing halo but ive only expericened one while playing the last board.

Blood omen II should be great when it comes out. Since this will be the real sequel (unlike soul reaver which is not). Crystal Dynamics always made good games from the start.

Uhm... Jeeps flip over, its what they do.

Smash should be on my ignore list, but since he's not....

    Yet, anyway....

You can flip cars in GT3? Good... that was one of my big complaints about GT2. I am still not expecting GT3 to be better than GT2, but we shall see.

Just a few quck XBox facts you should think about Smash:

The Xbox has 80 Gigaflops of computing power. That's equivalent to the power found in a Cray C94 supercomputer.

It would take everyone on Earth one hour to calculate what the Xbox calculates every second.

If the HyperTransport link in the Xbox was a pipe carrying water, and every bit of information equalled one gallon, the pipe would fill up the Pacific Ocean every second!

so dont go around saying it sucks

80? Total? You have any numbers for the PS2? 80 sounds a bit much. For a couple of reasons: 1) The PS2 is pulling 1 in just video processing, why would they have made it so weak, 2) the G4 pulls 4, and it was the strongest desktop computer on the planet when it was introduced (and for many a month following, I'm sure). Your Intel-based desktop can't pull more than 4, so how is it that your game console pulls 80?

*shrug* 80 sounds like a bit much. But, if your numbers are accurate...

The XBox sucks. It's big, but it sucks.
