    Smile VB and 3d graphics

ok. im getting my feet a bit wetter.

im planning a simple pure 3d pong game in VB. heres what i want to know.

    1) what should i use? DirectX or a vb 3d engine? any suggestions on one? and documentation?

    2) how hard is it to make (choice for #1) draw models? (extension is irrelivent)

    3) modify them? (change the overall width/height/depth non uniform?

    4) how hard would collition detection be? can i find out where it collided relitive to the model's origin?

    yeah....

Lets start at number one. You probably wont be able to fiond a pre made VB engine that will do what you want. This means that you probably will have to make your own. Since you dont seem to know anything about 3 programming, that is where you should start, and not even worry about the other few things. You should get started by dwnloading the DX 8.1 SDK from the Microsoft web site, and go through a bunch of tutorials. You can find a bunch of tutorials at http://www.vbexplorer.com/directx4vb . Go through them in order from easiest to hardest, or you WILL get lost, and probably lose interest. Once you have the basics down, then try out some of your own ideas, then come back here for some of the more advanced stuff.
