I found out what Pro4 is. Its a language developed by Mcdonal douglass. The company used it to write classes to hook into Vb

I dabbled with PRO IV for a couple of weeks a long time ago but luckily moved into VB. I think the most similar language would be PowerBuilder although I haven't done much with PB. It is a weird language not at all like any of the standard languages like VB, C++ or Java, very data driven but will run on most platforms. It doesn't seem to be used much so you end up very much at the mercy of your employer. To be honest if one of my friends asked me about going for a job in it I would advise them to avoid it if at all possible.

hello. i work in a business basic language called VPRO, which, in part, is a horrid evil """windows""" <--it needed extra quotes> language.
And also bbx4 & 5 which is a non-gui version of it. which are actually ok to work with. i think these may be other versions of what you are talking about.
it has it's advantages (calculations, file access, and string manipulation mostly). and actually there is quite a market for business basic programmers (nowhere near vb but pretty big). It's an interpreted language, so it's easy to customize. a lot of companies use it for accounts receivable software.
www.3dtek.com is a job site that specialises in business basic and a few other smaller languages. if you want to see what kinds of jobs are out there for it.
