Hello,

Does anyone know what encapsulation is in Java? It came up in a test I had last week and I don't have a clue what it is :o

i can't remember this one, but i know that helen covered it in one of our lectures, check out her slides on the cs 122 site :)

BTW JAVA SUCKS

i hated the "Extreme Programming"

Encapsulation is an object-oriented programming term for the ability to contain and hide information about an object, such as internal data structures and code. Encapsulation isolates the internal complexity of an object's operation from the rest of the application. For example, when you set the Caption property on a command button, you don't need to know how the string is stored

well it is true, but Mark is a much more supperior lecturerer than helen any day :), and he doesn't ask me questions, because i spend the whole lecture hiding behind my laptop :p

Yeah Mark is a good lecturer, but then anyone is a good lecturer compared to "yeah"
