I know i can't stream avi files. But I thought it was possible to buffer them a bit. when i try embedding an avi in a webpage it only gets played when it is fully downloaded. I thought this was not always the case. Am i wrong ?

i don't think you can buffer avi's

besides, it would depend on the mediaplayer used
