im making an RPG sort of game, but it isnt going to have any animations, just a series of forms and stuff, i think that is kind of bland, so how could i make it more interesting? (preferably without animations) thanks in advance

1. make good music
2. have a REALLY good story
3. make some nice options to the user

Well I think you could make it less bland if you tried hard -- a good example is the RPG, aptly named "RPG" in the "Black Art of Visual Basic Programming book". It was made for VB3 / VB4, but I still use some code from it.

Well I think you should have some animations. But like above good music good story and at least good graphics will make up for the animation. Definately spend a lot of time on the story, a good story can make up for other flaws in a game where as even if you have good graphics and high level everything else if the story and gameplay arn't any good then the whole game starts to suck too.
