    Visual Basic

i am very interested in expanding my knowledge of vb. i know the basics, like writing to text file, and i know a little bit of data base (with the data control), i would like to expand all of this knowledge, yet i am only 15 and dont have access to lots of income yet, so i need some sites or online books that i can get for free (or cheap), and some different ideas and suggestions for progs that will help me increase this knowledge. Any suggestion is welcome (with in reason, lol). Thank you very much.

Well this place is full of knowledge of hundreds of people's minds!

Plus some cool tutorials by karl read them!

Get a project of something that interests you then when stuck ask a question.

I'm sure there are plenty of books but these forums are full of info!

My only suggestion is just find a project that interests you and start coding away. When you get stuck, start researching the problem. I believe you will learn more from that approach than keeping your nose in some book.

When I was a teenager, I had two things, and only two things on my mind:

    Girls and Music.

Why don't you create a database with fields for all of your CDs names, artists, music type, year released, band members, all kinds of different things, and then put a VB front end on it.

    Lightbulb Better yet

Better yet try to create a very simplistic game. Thats what I began doing in programming I last year. I kept thinking how could I do this? Or how could I do that? And it was all very simple at first but as I learned more I relized I could actually make something pretty cool. And considering how many different aspects of programming go into making a game it is bound to teach you a lot.
All will fall before the might of the Black Sashi...
