I hate the bastards who ****ed with Napster...now you can't get **** from it.
Has my purchase of CD's increased due to napster being screwed with...NO. Have the record industry shot themselves in the foot...YES. If I like an artist, I would have gone on napster, downloaded some shiat, seen how it goes, if I like, go buy CD. Can't do that now...I ain't ganna risk £10 on it being a **** CD...******s. Don't know something good when it comes up and smacks them in the face.
And I can't be arsed with all this other swapping crap...they're all crap, takes weeks to get anywhere, constanly broken downloads, hardly ever can connect to anyone's machine...waste of time.
In the words of many people...******S!

There hasn't been a single piece of music written since 1982.

I know, but I was pissed about it, and this was half-related. It is chit chat after all

Chris, try WinMX... Only a little bit more "can't connect" messages than Napster(it's a lot better than anything else though)... And the interface looks a lot like Napster's....
I used to get songs from napster, then if I liked them, I bought the CD containing them.... Now I have to try and use another program(it's gotten much easier with WinMX, but trying to use morpheus or limewire was a pain in the ass)

Revolution
I can't listen to the posted piece of music (don't have sound) but I can imagine how poor it must be.
I think the music industry needs a hard kick up the ar*e and we need another musical revolution (like punk) to totally shake it all up.
Everything I say is either loose interpretation of dubious facts or idle speculation rooted in irrational sentiment.

The music industry is already going down hill anyway.
The only reason songs get to number one is they relase the song on radio for about 4 or 5 weeks and then relase it in the shops. This means everyone goes out and buys it and the record sales are huge the first few days.
That's why the same song is never at number one for more than a week (unless it's really good).
Did you know it costs a £1000.00 to promote an artist in ONE HMV window.
A lot of independant record labels can't compete with the big record labels.
That's also why you may hear a new song say from 'George Micheal' about 10 times a day on the radio. The record company pays the radio station to play it so why is a radio station going to play an unknown for free.
This is the main problem is Fat Cats at the top want to make money. They know nothing about the music industry. The main taget is 8 - 14, 15 year old kids. They know in society today the kids have a lot of spending money and will promote some boyband or teenie group with as much publisity and merchadise as possible to make money. And It Works!
The charts have become a farce but the real music is still here, only a lot of it is underground so to speak.
I go to a lot of concerts alright some teenie bands but also some cracking bands too. You can always tell who's not going to last if they havn't got more than a one album deal they are just a quick money spinner.

I think the return of classical music will turn this stupid music industry right side round. Kids should be going to symphonies and operas instead of Brittney and that other **** music.

Paul Van Dyk and Yanni compose, write, and produce their own music, there what I'd call artists.
