I have written a database application that will generally be used on a Windows 2000 OS, but we have a couple of computers that I need to install it on that are running Windows 95. The application is inserting and extracting data off of SQL Server 2000 which is running on a server with Windows 2000 server OS.
When I use the PDW, the final report says that I need to install DCOM98 on any Windows 95 or 98 systems that the app will be installed on. However, I have not been able to locate DCOM98 anywhere. I read through the Release Notes from Windows 2000 server and if I understand it correctly there is no patch for Windows 95 that will allow it to communicate with our server. Is this true? If not, where can I get DCOM98 to install on the Windows 95 systems?
