Computer hardware sites (UK)
what sites do people usually use to buy hardware components in the UK? i'm gonna be doing a major upgrade to my pc soon, and will probably use overclockers.co.uk, but on romulus2.com, it doesn't get a great review, but not crap either (apparently, they send stuff to you in jiffy bags, although i hope they don't neglect to include the box aswell!). one site that got a good review was dabs.com, but their prices are way too high. overclockers seem to have the best prices i can find.

thanks i've checked out scan too, and they seem pretty good (considering getting a 64mb Ge-Force 2 graphics card from them at £175), although they didn't get a very good rating on romulus2 either

Dunno why they say that as I've used scan heavily and they have always had excellent service, next day without fail and I've never returned one thing. only used over clockers a few time's and there service has been pretty good also.

well i guess no company can please all of its customers, there's bound to be unhappy people. i reckon i'll use both of those sites. everywhere else either doesn't have what i want, or is wayyyy too expensive.
btw, what was that i read about overclockers sending stuff in jiffy bags? i mean that's a bit dodgy for things like motherboards and CPUs right?

here are a few that i use quite regularly
www.novatech.co.uk
www.insight.com - you have to click on the union jack flag on the top left
www.simply.co.uk or it might be www.simplycomputers.co.uk can't remember
Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.
