    Thumbs up The White Stripes

Has anybody heard this band? They are from Detroit in America and I bought an albumn of theirs the other day and found it very refreshing. No over production and no orchestras, just plain guitars, vocals and drums. Very raw.

Does anyone else around here like this band?

What's wrong, don't they have electricity there or something?

Probably sound quite good, bit like something from the 60's or 70's like the Beatles and the BeeGees the first time round.

What sort of music is it?

And why the name ... something to do with the stripes on the US flag?

    No, it's very electric.

They play a sort of bluesy/punk/rock sort of music that blends many infuences (such as the Rolling Stones, Iggy and the Stooges, Television and the Pixies).

I don't know the story behind their name but it could be...
