As I said, I love the changes, but I did notice one problem. I was looking at one of my older posts, and I noticed that every time there was a quotation, " , followed immediately by a right parentheses, ) , the right parentheses had been replaced by a winking smilie face, ;) . It really screws up the code when it does that, as you can see in this (http://www.vb-world.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=6853) post. Oh, yeah, and then one other thing, I edited my post and it would not accept the changes until I typed in the Subject of the reply that I had originally typed in. It did this when I made only a minor change, only a couple of characters, but if I typed more than that, and in plain text(not code), it accepted the changes just fine.

I feel horrible for doing this, but I found another bug. When I log into the Q and A section, the BB is supposed to light up the bulbs next to forums that have new posts since my last login. Well, after posting my last reply to the original message, I logged in and there was no light bulb next to this forum. Additionally, there was a bulb lit up next to the Database forum, but when I went inside the forum, there were no posts marked as being new. Maybe the BB does something that I don't know about. If so, please let me know, and I'll just look stupid, but at least it will be the last time. :)
------Added------
It appears as though the BB doesn't recognize when new replies are being made, because I have made several replies and it never indicated that there was anything new in that forum. It wasn't just this forum, it was the General forum too. Sorry to be so much of a bother, but I figured you would want to know about it.

I have been getting a bunch of errors when trying to edit messages. These are the errors I have received so far:
parsing error in postings.php on line 5
parsing error in postings.php on line 195
parsing error in forumdisplay.php on line 25
parsing error in forumdisplay.php on line 7
Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\'(ASCII=92)state=2 in global.php on line 254
I can get it to go through if I keep trying. And on the subject of editing posts, I've found that when you post a reply, or edit a reply, it does not include the last two characters. So, for example, if your last word is:
indicated
Then all that would appear would be:
indicat
You can, however, avoid this if you put two spaces at the end of every post. But that would get as annoying as having to put a semicolon after each line in C/C++ or PERL! :)
And I don't know what happened to my smilie above, but it doesn't want to show it. So, whatever.

I seem to have fixed the smilies now - it was a problem with the quotes being changed to " followed by a bracket ) gave you ") . This was then turned into a smilie.
I think that I've got that one now.
More replies will follow...

These happen as I upload new scripts. Don't worry about them.

You shouldn't be losing those two characters off the end of edited posts now.

The problem with lightbulbs needs a more in depth study before I can fix it completely. Some cookie thing I think!

Thank you. And I must say, that for as large and versatile this BB is, I am surprised that you don't have more errors. I think that really says a lot for how well you tested the scripts before you posted them. Either that, or you have one heck of a group of programmers!

One other thing that I REALLY like, is how when you post code, it automatically color-codes the text, just like VB does. It makes it much easier to read that way. Great Thinking!

Looks good. (mainly just posting this to make sure my name/password still work)

I guess you get to have a subject line now, even if you are replying to an existing topic.
Yea, this board has been shaping up, but I still can't wait until it's finished... :(

Yeah, the VB code being the appropriate colours is a great feature, with just one bug I've found though...
Reserved words that are supposed to be in a comment still appear highlighted instead of green.
Otherwise, I love all the new changes, but one question:
What is the ICQ Status and the flower all about??

Perhaps "ICQ Online Status" would be more approriate. The flower and text appears if the user has specified an ICQ number in their profile. The little flower goes green if they are logged into ICQ at that time.

John and James,
Just wanted to say "Thanks" again for fixing the Netscape problem. I'm sorry I did not post it in the appropriate section.
I also love the changes. All the features are very much welcomed in my book.
Keep up the good work! :D :D
Thanks again,
JazzBass

It would appear as though the cookie script used to determine when a user last logged in (for the purpose of highlighting topics) is no longer working. Because I have logged in several times and the same messages are showing up as new and there are no new replies to them. It is also affecting the light bulbs.

I just noticed something and I was wondering if it is supposed to be this way. What I noticed is that VBAmateur posted two different topics in the General VB Q and A forum (see:here (http://www.vb-world.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=10220) and here (http://www.vb-world.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=10219)). But each VBAmateur typed their name differently in each on. In one of them, it was typed all lowercase, and in the other it was capitalized (like I have typed it). So I decided to do a test on my name, and sure enough I can enter it either capitalized or all lowercase. Is that the way it's supposed to be??? Just wondering.

Maybe this has been there ever since you updated the system but I just noticed it. The "Welcome back, Gimpster, ..." is really cool. But I was just wondering if you could make it a little bigger, like the size of the rest of the text, but only in bold, so it stands out a little more. Thanks!

The usernames are not case sensitive any more. vbamateur is the same as VBAmateur.
